A mechanical stage attachment to your compound microscope is a great way to enhance your slide viewing experience.  Rather than using your fingers to push the slide around or having the slide move when you bump the table your microscope is sitting on,  you can easily guide the slide across the stage in two dimensions while maintain focus.  Overall, you can move the slide 65 mm across the X-axis and 25 mm on the Y-axis.

You can quickly attach it to a full-size microscope pre-drilled for a mechanical stage. Dimensions are 5" across by 4 1/2" tall.
